The diamond-shaped gusset in Gramicci’s original climbing shorts was borrowed from kung-fu trousers, giving climbers
the freedom to move through a full 180 degrees. The built-in webbing belt took its cue from backpack straps and could be
adjusted with one hand. Both details remain signatures of Gramicci today.
