Start dry — lift dust off the lens with a soft, oil-free brush or a puff of air before you wipe anything.
For fingerprints and smudges, wipe gently with a soft, clean cloth.
For marks that won't lift, add a little pure alcohol or a dedicated lens cleaner and wipe from the centre outwards.
Never use paper towels, tissues or a shirt tail — they scratch the coatings.
After a day at the coast, wipe the body with a cloth dampened in fresh water, then dry it — salt left to sit attacks the finish.
Store in a cool, dry place and never leave optics in a hot car.
