Materials

The glassine wrapper is a choice — leave it on to protect the paper cover, or take it off and let the cover mark and age.
MD Notebook covers fit over the notebook with the glassine wrapper still on.
Thread stitching is what lets it lie flat — it opens 180 degrees on its own, so don't crease the spine backwards.
MD Paper takes fountain pen ink well, but wet ink needs a moment to dry — blot rather than rub.
Store upright out of direct sunlight and away from damp.
