In 2003, we asked: can a sandal protect your toes? The Newport's rugged rubber toe bumper has been keeping toes happy from craggy trails to rocky riverbeds ever since. Ready for land or water, this quick-dry version of our iconic Newport is machine washable, with a grippy, siped sole for traction across different terrain.

Materials

Upper: washable polyester webbing
Lining: quick-dry
Outsole: non-marking rubber
PFAS-free

Rinse or scrub off mud, sand and grit first — an old toothbrush works well on the tread and toe bumper.
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with low or no spin, in cold water with a mild colour-safe detergent.
Close any hook-and-loop fastenings first and add a couple of towels as buffers.
Never use bleach.
Air dry outside — not in a clothes dryer. Sunlight speeds drying and helps with odour.

KEEN's starting point is half a size up from your usual shoe size, then adjust from there.

The bungee lace cinches the sandal snug over the top of your foot, which is why one size suits a range of widths — including narrow feet, which can simply be pulled tighter.

Fit it the way you'll wear it — most people wear these barefoot.
Your heel should sit on the footbed, not off the back.
Women's are a B width, men's a D width.
