The same clip lets you extend a part-worn eraser rather than replace it.
Sharpen with a long-point sharpener to get the point the core is designed for.
Snapping lead when sharpening usually means a dull blade, not a faulty pencil.
Store pencils flat or point-up in a cup rather than loose in a bag.

Blackwing graphite grades run Matte (softest) → Pearl → 602 → Natural (firmest).
